May 8, 2019

The Miami-Fort Lauderdale-West Palm Beach area is among the highest population growth of any metro area since 2010, according to Census data released last month. Miami-Dade alone has added 263,568 people since 2010, despite nearly all developable land being built out long ago. The county surpassed Dallas in the top ten ranking of most populous counties this decade. – The Next Miami

Population growth in Miami is fueled by international arrivals and now, with no state or local income tax (SALT) larger numbers of Californians and north-easterners are making the move. With developing infrastructure, large events, a thriving business environment, a relatively low cost of living, and a significant cultural diversity Miami is attracting a more dynamic population. In total, there were 6,198,782 people in the area as of July 1, 2018.
